Trick-or-treating 2015 in Winnipeg

Shorter days, great harvests and colder nights are upon us and you know what that means! It’s time to start shopping for a perfect, adorable Creature from the Black Lagoon costume for your small child and start figuring out where they (and you) can go to have the most fun and get the best candy. While hitting the streets in your own neighborhood is always fun (and a great way to meet the neighbors) there are a few other options for Trick-or-Treating 2015 in Winnipeg.

Manitoba Children’s Museum Halloween HowlChild in lion outfit with caption Need more room for his costume?

On October 24 the Saturday before Halloween the Manitoba Children’s Museum Halloween Howl will have live entertainment, trick-or-treating in each of the museum’s twelve galleries, crafts, and live lizards and owls to look at and learn about. The even runs 6:00-9:00pm and costs $13 in advance or $15 at the door. Get your tickets while supplies last at the Children’s Museum website or by calling 204-924-4000.

Forks Market Halloween Party

On Sunday October 25 the Forks Market Halloween Party will run from 1:00-4:00pm at the Centre Court. Kids will have the opportunity to make their own trick or treat bag, get their faces painted, grab a balloon animal, and play games.

Trick-or-treating at the mall

Malls and shopping centres like the St. Vital Centre, Kildonan Place, Grant Park, and Portage Place usually have trick-or-treating available on Halloween itself either in the afternoon or evening. Many shops will give prizes to children in costumes and there can be special evens as well. Check your preferred shopping location for exact times.

Stay Safe While Trick-or-Treating

And of course you can trick or treat right in your own neighborhood, but it’s important to stay safe as well. Children should wear bright costumes that are visible to motorists and also comfortable to walk and move in. They should always be in a group or accompanied by a trusted adult and should stay away from candles and other open flames that might be used in decorations.

We at Craig Dunn Motor City hope you have a frightfully wonderful and safe Halloween!
