Fireworks Tips

Looking to avoid huge crowds this Fourth of July?  Don’t want to get stuck in traffic after the fireworks have ended?  Many people take to the fireworks stands and stock up on pyrotechnics so that they can put on their own show.  While this may be convenient, it can also be dangerous if certain precautions are not taken.  At Seattle Metro Used Cars, we have come up with a list some fireworks tips that you need to follow to insure that none of your party needs the emergency room.

You wouldn’t give a kid a stick of dynamite (or maybe you would, but then there are other issues that need to be dealt with here):

Kids can be persuasive with their gap-toothed smiles and unwavering persistence in pursuit of a candy bar, but do not let them handle the fireworks at all costs.  It’s would be on par with feeding a Gremlin ager midnight: Nothing good can come of it.

Keep an eye on your curious cat or inquisitive iguana:

Some call animals curious.  Others may say they are just dumb,  No matter what your stance on this issue is, keep an eye out for your pets around pyrotechnics.  Do not let them get too close to the fireworks or they might end up like Jack Nicholson in Chinatown when he got too close to danger (Polanski even called him a nosy “kitty cat”).  At minimum, the sound from the explosion can hurt the animals ears.

Fireworks explode.  The keeper of the ‘crackers should of sound mind and body:

Don’t drink too much if you are the one igniting the fireworks.  You have a responsibility for the safety of everyone at your private display.  Light off the fireworks from a flat surface to make sure it doesn’t fall over.  To leave nothing to chance, you can even elect a designated lighter.

Pockets can carry a lot of things:

But never fireworks.  Avoid sticking explosives in places where friction can occur.

From all of us at Seattle Metro Used Cars, we hope you have a great and safe Independence Day.
