Seattle Weekend Events Festivities
With Friday less than a day away, it is time to start game planning for this weekend. As always, our sensational city of Seattle has terrific weekend events and festivities to enjoy. Here are some of the interesting happenings that caught our eye at Seattle Metro Used Cars–the best of the best, if you will. Here they are:
Fremont Outdoor Movies: July 25 and 26th (Movie starts tentatively at 9:30 PM; for best seats arrive at & PM when the gates open: 3501 Phinney Ave)
Who doesn’t love an outdoor movie on a warm summer evening. Head up to North Seattle for the “Fremont Almost Free Outdoor Cinema”. Friday night, the film that put Wes Anderson, his indie auteur style, and meticulously color schemed set designs on the map will be shown. Catch Rushmore starring a young Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray (not young, but still amazingly youthful). Saturday night, take in the cult-classic comedy Wet Hot American Summer. Featuring those who built MTV’s The State like Michael Showalter, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Ian Black, David Hyde Pierce and stars before they were stars (Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, and Ken Marino), this laugh-out-loud (literally) comedy will make you cry due to how badly your gut hurts.
Seattle Mariners taking on the Orioles of Baltimore: July 25th to the 27th (start times vary)
Robinson Cano and the M’s are vying for a playoff spot. The task becomes taller as the American League East leading Baltimore Orioles arrive in the Emerald City for a three game series this weekend. Show your support for the hometown team before they take their show on the road, and drive over to SafeCo Field this weekend. Tickets are available at the ticket office or at the Seattle Mariners’ website.
Capitol Hill Block Party: July 25th to the 27th (Gates open at 3 PM on Friday and 1 PM Saturday and Sunday, located at East Pike St and 12th Ave)
Tennessee is known as the Music City, but we love music as any city in the country. There always seems to be some sort of music fest or concert series happening. This weekend is no different with the Capitol Hill Block Party this weekend. Featuring major acts such as A$AP Rocky, Chromeo, The War on Drugs, Matt & Kim, Spoon, and xxyyxx, this is one of the most star-studded lineups that any music fest can put together. Great food and beverages compliment the music. Day-of tickets are $60 at the ticket booth.
