Busy and bustling Seattle never sits still. And with yet another weekend coming upon us in our fair city, Seattle is poised to become like over-caffeinated coffee junky, just needing to go and go and go, brimming with energy. With no shortage of functions, festivities, and fun for everyone, there is no better place to be than in the city by the sound. Here are the weekend events in Seattle for August 22-24.
Seattle International Beerfest: August 22-24 (Seattle Center Fisher Pavilion)
Who isn’t excited by an party that has over 200 of the best brews in the world, coming from 12 different countries (always good to have the number of countries the beer comes from outnumber the digits on your hands). Cost of entry is $30 at the gate or $25 for advance online tickets. Including 10 beer tickets, with prices of beer ranging from one to seven tickets, go around the world through sipping on suds.
Ice Cream-O-Rama: August 23, 11 AM-3 PM (21106 86th AV SE, Snohomish, WA)
Take to the road with the family for a fun-filled day of frozen delicacies and festivities. This free to attend event features barbecue, doughnuts and coffee, the opportunity to pet alpacas and miniature donkey, along with some live musical performances. And ice cream, of course will be available as well.
Vashon Sheepdog Classic: August 22-25 (Vashon Island)
With 30 acres of meadows and gentle hills, this event is as picturesque as it is unique. Watch these talented dogs and their handlers deftly guide sheep through a series of trying farm tasks. Great selections of local fare, wine, and beer add to the reasons join in on this great event. Kids activities and a sheep shearing demonstration add to the excitement. Take the whole family out for a day of dogs and fun.
