Buckle Up, Folks: The Release of the 2015 Nissan Murano

We still have several months until 2015, but that certainly hasn’t stopped us from looking ahead. Like so many others in the auto industry, we are in collective thrall as the New York International Auto Show gets under way, with promised vehicle reveals and exciting surprises. Thankfully, the wait hasn’t been long: we at Avondale Nissan have already gotten the first look at the release of the next-generation 2015 Nissan Murano. And now, you can too.
From the striking U-shaped grille, extending through Nissan’s signature “boomerang” headlights and continuing rearward toward the new “disconnect” rear window pillars, it’s immediately clear that the 2015 Nissan Murano has aimed high with this redesign. The aggressive styling is evident throughout, with eye-catching new wheels and muscular rear fenders that loudly announce the arrival of an altogether new Crossover SUV.
The engine in the 2015 Nissan Murano will be a VQ-Series 3.5-liter V6, which will be paired with the excellent Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to deliver a thrilling 260 horsepower and 240 lb.-ft. of torque. Nissan is also estimating that the new Murano will achieve 20% more fuel economy than the 2014 model, due to a trim-down of 130 pounds, a more efficient powertrain, and a greater attention to aerodynamic factors.
Once you get inside the 2015 Nissan Murano, it’s clear that the interior has been fully reconfigured as well. The popular “Zero Gravity” seats (also found in the Nissan Altima) are now found in the Murano, with available heating and cooling functions, and the breathtaking panoramic moonroof gives passengers a view that competitors can’t match.
The Nissan Murano was among the first to kick off the now-established Crossover SUV segment, so it’s fitting that the new 2015 Nissan Murano is here once again to push the envelope further. The 2015 Nissan Murano is expected to arrive in dealership showrooms later this year, and believe us when we say that Avondale Nissan near Phoenix will be ready.
