2014 Nissan Pathfinder in Phoenix

In 2001, I was rewarded for good grades and being an all-around wonderful kid–some opinions on this fact may vary–with my first vehicle, a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. It was a striking shade of red, and although I didn’t know its previous owners personally, I felt that the inexplicable cigarette burns on the ceiling told me plenty about their lifestyle. I loved that vehicle for each of the 160,000 miles we shared together, and when I sold it a few years ago, it felt like a betrayal. It was a rugged vehicle, definitely, but it was mine.

Looking at the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder in the Phoenix area, it’s impossible to ignore how the seeds sewn in those early years have blossomed into what is fast becoming one of America’s most refined SUVs. When I say that my Pathfinder was rugged, I’m not necessarily bragging. It was loud, it was hard on gas, and certain bumps had a spine-rattling effect. (more…)
