Now that we’re getting into the spring months at Avondale Nissan, we can start looking forward to some of our favorite holidays that are just around the corner. First among these, of course, is St. Patrick’s Day, which offers a welcome mix of revelry, music and food in our area. But where to go? Here are a few recommendations for Irish pubs near Phoenix to visit this St. Patrick’s Day. It’s never too early to start making plans, everyone!
Padre Murphy’s — Glendale — Tuesday, March 17th
The Padre Murphy’s event has become legendary as a St. Patty’s destination, and it’s with good reason. Taking place on the actual holiday–its a Tuesday, mind you–this massive pub pulls out all the stops. It’s family-friendly for the first part of the day, with clowns, face-painters, leprechauns and more from 2 to 5pm. Live music and corned beef and cabbage will be available all day, with green drinks flowing all throughout the day’s proceedings. Not to be missed.
Murphy’s Law — Chandler — Tuesday, March 17th
Although the pub opens at 9 in the morning, the real party begins at 4 pm. There is a wonderful variety of live entertainment options, including music, Irish dancers and bagpipers. Murphy’s also features some of the best Irish fare in the area, and we can’t applaud it enough. There is a $5 cover charge after 5pm, but you’ll find that it’s well worth it. Make not, it’s 21 and over after 9pm.
Thirsty Lion — Tempe — March 13th thru March 17th
If you work during the week, you’ll be happy to know that this option exists on the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day! There will be specials on beer and food all weekend, with a special St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser on Saturday, March 14th, from 2 to 5pm. On Tuesday, the fun gets even more vibrant with live music and all sorts of Irish fun to enjoy!
Seamus McCaffrey’s Irish Pub — Downtown Phoenix — Tuesday, March 17th
Featuring some of the best Irish-themed live music you’ll find anywhere, this event is always one of our favorites. We can count on all sorts of Irish revelry throughout the day, from face painters to bagpipers to costumes that you won’t believe. If you are planning on heading downtown, this one is a sure bet for a good time.
We trust that these recommendations will ensure that this St. Patrick’s Day will be the best yet. And, once the holiday has passed, we hope that you’ll come see us at Avondale Nissan!
