2016 Nissan Maxima Release Date

The release of the 2016 Nissan Maxima, as you might have heard us mention before, isn’t far away. This represents the eighth generation of Nissan’s four-door sports car (or 4DSC, if you so prefer), and after seeing it from all angles, we can safely assume that the full-size sedan segment is about to have its world rocked. So, to celebrate the upcoming 2016 Nissan Maxima release, let’s look at a few of the finer features of this terrific model, shall we?

2016 Nissan Maxima Phoenix AZThe new Maxima “has a little jet fighter to it.” These words come directly from Nissan, and they are no joke. To prepare for designing the latest Maxima, the Nissan design team paid a visit to the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels fleet of jet fighters, and came away with the design you see above. They took cues from the Blue Angels cockpit to create the wrap-around interior design, while they sculpted and streamlined the exterior to give it a more aerodynamic posture.

Shhhhhhhh…. The latest Maxima model takes interior ambiance seriously, and this is never more obvious than in it’s combination of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Active Sound Enhancement (ASE). ANC works like noise-cancelling headphones to eliminate unpleasant sounds, while the ASE ports in sound from the Maxima’s outstanding 3.5L V6. The result: a cabin that offers all of the sounds you want, and none of the ones you don’t.

An all-new platform. For many vehicles, when they enter a new generation, they simply put a new shape on an existing platform. Sure, they may shift a few angles here and there, but the overall dimensions remain frustratingly similar. For the 2016 Nissan Maxima, however, we started from scratch, resulting in a model that is lower, lighter, longer and tighter. Compared to the previous Maxima, it’s 2.2 inches longer, 1.3 inches lower, 82 inches lighter and has 25 percent more torsional rigidity. Put all this together, and you are greeted by a Maxima that is truly all-new.

Japanese roots meets American craftsmanship. We’ve already mentioned that its design was inspired by the most famous American jet fighter fleet. This isn’t all, however. The 2016 Maxima is assembled entirely at Nissan’s facility in Smyrna, Tennessee, while all of its engines are assembled down the road in Decherd, Tennessee. This is no vehicle pretending to understand American drivers’ needs, to be sure.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima will be arriving at Avondale Nissan in the coming months, but we’ve already begun taking orders from interested drivers. To learn more about this vehicle or find out when it will arrive, visit our dealership today!
