Just in Time for Rio, the Nissan Diehard Fan Nations App!

You may remember during last college football season, Nissan rolled out the first iteration of its popular “Diehard Fan” smartphone app. Before long, the app was everywhere, and fans of local squads like Arizona and Arizona State were quick to put faux paint on their faces to show their allegiance. Now, just in time for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Nissan has introduced the new Diehard Fan Nations App, allowing users to show their national pride as well. It offered on both Apple and Android devices, and is even available in multiple languages.

Downloading the app is as simple as going to your preferred app store, and then going through your traditional process of adding it to your phone’s applications. From there, you can then begin showing your allegiance for your preferred country, all without actually putting paint to your face. USA!

How Does the Diehard Fan Nations App Work?
Once you’ve gotten to work on your very own Diehard Fan face, you’ll inevitably wonder just how this thing even works. Here’s the gist: the app uses your phone’s camera to take a scan of your face, and then uses Nissan’s patented proprietary facial-analysis technology to apply the paint graphics to your face. You can even move your face as the app scans, and the paint will move right with it. It’s truly something to behold. Additionally, each design was painted first on a human model, which allows them to look more lifelike than they might otherwise.
