You remember Bret Michaels, right? You know, the lead singer of Poison, the best hair metal band not named Mötley Crüe or Def Leppard? The voice behind such seminal ballads as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Something to Believe In”? The star of “Rock of Love,” where women defied the odds and their natural hair colors for the chance at some three-chord rockin’ romance? You know…the Bret Michaels!

Little known fact, Bret Michaels doesn’t just love cowboy hats and aviator shades. He also has a large amount of love for the Nissan NV line of commercial vehicles, and they’ve now teamed up to remind drivers that, when cargo (or gear, as bands call it) needs carrying, there isn’t any other vehicle as well-suited to the task. But how are they such a perfect pair? Let’s break it down, like a well-constructed pop-rock tune.

Nissan NV Phoenix AZIt’s powerful. Do you remember the opening shredding of Poison’s classic “Talk Dirty to Me”? You never doubted that this riff was taking you somewhere special. Accordingly, the Nissan NV SV is powered by an available 5.6L V8 that is similarly assured. Also now available in the NV is a rocking 4.0L DOHC V6–consider this the “Bret Michaels’ Later Career” option, less gritty but no less inspiring.

It’s versatile. Have you ever been to a Poison show? At one point, it’s an undeniable metal show, all angst and blistering guitar solos. Then, on a dime, you’re hearing acoustic guitars and lap-steel. It’s amazing. You know what else is amazing? The NV’s seating for twelve and 324 (!) available seating configurations. That’s almost as many times as CC Deville was kicked out of Poison!

It will last, like, forever. If you’d have cornered Bret Michaels on the Sunset Strip in 1989 and told him that he’d still be a vital member of the pop-culture community in 25 years…let’s be honest, he wouldn’t have remembered any of it. However, he’s still somehow here, and the Nissan NV is similarly timeless. Along with its 5 year/100,000 mile warranty, the NV undergoes 7,000 individual quality and durability tests as well as 800,000 miles of reliability road testing. “Nothin’ But a Good Time,” indeed.

But why take our word for it that Bret Michaels and the Nissan NV go together like a cowboy and a sad, sad song? We’re just Avondale Nissan, we aren’t some major rock and roll musician with, like, tattoos and stuff. So we’ll just let the man tell you himself.

Take it away, Bret.
