You might remember a few weeks back, we introduced you to the brand-new 2016 Nissan Maxima. (You do remember, right?) One little tidbit about its release, however, was kept secret even from us at Avondale Nissan, and wasn’t fully announced until the recent New York International Auto Show. That was that the NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM has been fully redesigned, complete with new features and a faster processor. All told, the new lineup of Nissan models (following the Maxima, it will be featured on four additional models for 2016) will be the most well-connected and convenient in Nissan’s history, and will be among the most advanced models at any pricepoint.
All told, each new Maxima model will receive the standard NissanConnect infotainment service, which pairs with an 8-inch touchscreen display to offer all sorts of features such as app connectivity, SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Traffic, as well as Online Search powered by Google. You can easily find local fuel prices, movie times, or update your social media, all from the comfort of your vehicle. It also pairs to work hands-free, making it safer than ever as well. From its standard package, the NissanConnect interface is then divided into three tiers, each of which offers terrific features for Nissan drivers.
As was stated, NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM is divided into three tiers, which are:
NissanConnect Services: This is the base package of the NissanConnect Services interface, yet it still provides many facets that operators desire. On top of the standard infotainment package, the standard service offers such options as Automatic Collision Notification and the Stolen Vehicle Locator.
NissanConnect Services Premium: In addition to everything found in the standard suite of services, the Premium level package offers Remote Start as well as Remote Door Lock and Unlock, and also offers monitor alerts for Valet Alert and Curfew Alert.
NissanConnect Services Premium Plus: At the top of the available packages for the NissanConnect Services lies the Premium Plus, which offers everything found in the previous levels as well as new concierge services. It adds such exciting features such as Assisted Search, Connected Search and Journey Planner.
