Although we certainly pay the closest attention to our all-new 2017 models that are beginning to arrive at Avondale Nissan, we also are sometimes brought to our feet when it comes to concept models that we may in our showroom at some point. Just last year, we were treated to the release of the redesigned 2016 Nissan Maxima at Avondale Nissan. It signaled a sea change for the entire Nissan sedan lineup, which we are now seeing in the revamped models of the Sentra and Altima. Nissan is always churning through excellent ideas for vehicles, from the Nissan Cube to the Nissan Juke, and the Nissan Gripz is no different.  What is the Gripz, you ask?  Well, it’s a bleeding-edge sports crossover vehicle that combines the utility of a typical crossover vehicle with the looks and handling of a sedan.  In this case, that would be the exterior of a raging, powerful sedan with beauty coursing from belt line to front fascia.

At Avondale Nissan, we don’t typically get too worked up about concept vehicles, but then again, we don’t usually see concept vehicles like the Nissan Sway. Go ahead, admire the pictures above. What you see is the future of the Nissan hot-hatch lineup. The Nissan Sway concept has only been making the internet rounds for a little over 24 hours, and in that time, message boards have blown up with breathless anticipation that, as of this posting, we might not ever see in the United States. A few years ago, long before we got our first glimpse of the 2016 Nissan Maxima or the 2016 Nissan Titan, there was a different future Nissan model that stole our hearts. It was slickly designed, had a distinctly retro feel, and gave hope to all of us at Avondale Nissan who would love to see a compact muscle coupe like we used to see in the late sixties and early seventies. It directly recalled the iconic styling of the famed Datsun 510, and it was a joint project between Nissan and some pioneering computer designers called “digital natives.” Long story short, when we saw the Nissan IDx concept, we fell in love a little bit.
