But changes are in store – namely, a new S trim level that will replace the SX Limited trim. The S trim will be sporty and affordable, with large tires and a low starting price, which when combined with nice fuel economy, provides another quality option for vehicle shoppers!
While there will still be five trim options total (for 2018 there’s LX, S, LX 1.6T, EX and SX), as in 2017, here’s some important specs for the S trim:
- 185 horsepower.
- 24 mpg city, 34 mpg highway.
- 17-inch or 18-inch tires.
- Available UVO eServices, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, streaming audio, more.
2018 Optima: Release Details, and Features for All Trims
We anticipate the 2018 Kia Optima to be on the lot in late summer or early fall 2017. Now let’s look at the features of all of the 2018 Optima’s trims, which are more spacious and tech-savvy than their competition among mainstream automakers.

- Available UVO eServices, with Apple Car Play and Android Auto for compatible smartphones, among other features.
- Available safety features like Blind Spot Detection System, Autonomous Emergency Braking.
- Tires range from 16 to 18 inches.
