What’s New with the 2018 Kia Soul?

2018 Kia Soul Features Benefits and Improvements
Is it possible to improve upon greatness? It’s certainly possible.
When Michael Jordan was a young NBA star but still unable to get past the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Playoffs in three consecutive seasons, he hit the gym and hit the weights until he was an unstoppable force, and proceeded to win six NBA titles. To name another example, Christopher Nolan the director began his career with movies like “Memento” and “Insomnia” – both great in their own right – but has since stepped up to make the modern-day classic “Inception” and some major “Batman” movies released from 2005 to 2012 that greatly improved upon the originals.
Now, enter the 2018 Kia Soul, which was already an impressive machine in the 2017 model year. For the 2017 edition, it came with color options that popped like Mysterious Blue and Inferno Red; and it had a new engine option which jacked the horsepower up from about 164 ponies to 201 HP in the top trim level, the Exclaim (!). And what do we get to experience as an encore for 2018? More advances in features and quality – we’ll fill you in on the improvements and specs of the 2018 Kia Soul after the page break!
New Features and Upgrades for the 2018 Kia Soul
- All-new Wild Orange paint color option.
- Autonomous Emergency Braking now available for the mid-level Plus (+) trim.
- Options formerly only available in the top-line Exclaim (!) trim are now available for the Plus trim as well, such as:
- High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights.
- Power-folding outside mirrors.
- Mirror-mounted LED turn signal indicators.
2018 Soul: Specs and Features
That’s some sweet improvements to the safety features and exterior features, as well as the colors of the Soul, but here’s some greatness that has carried over from 2017 and is also in the 2018 model year for the Kia Soul:
- HP ranges from 130 in Base trim, to 161 in Plus trim to 201 in Exclaim trim.
- MPG: Base of 25 city, 30 highway; upwards of 26 city, 31 highway in the Exclaim trim.
- Cargo Room of 61.3 cubic feet.
- Room for five passengers with 101 cubic feet of space.
- Available UVO eServices: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, space for 8GB of music, and more.
