2018 Veterans Day Events in Racine, Wisconsin

The phrase “All gave some. Some gave all,” is a poetic way to express the sacrifice undergone by every member of the United States Armed Forces, be it a fallen hero who gave their lives on the battlefield or a radar technician who spent her career assisting deployed units. Every person who has ever gotten behind the badge and flag of the United States has done so hoping to preserve the qualities which have made the United States a bastion of liberty.

As members of the Racine, Kenosha, Sturtevant, Pleasant Prairie and Southeast Wisconsin communities, we recognize that many of our friends, neighbors and family members are counted among those who have served our country. These people have all sacrificed something to ensure our way of life is guarded. If we’re honest with ourselves, it’s something we sadly take for granted.

Veterans Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on the service of those who have heeded the call and gone forward. It’s an appropriate time to thank the veterans in your own lives for their sacrifices as well as examine what we can do to show them the gratitude they’ve earned.

One of our favorite ways to reflect on their sacrifices is to attend a Veterans Day ceremony. With many in our community being past or active members of the armed forces, you’ll find Racine has a lot to do to commemorate the occasion.
