What engines are available in the 2016 Kia Forte?

When choosing your Forte, you can choose the 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter engine available in the LX and EX respectively. Opting for one or the other Forte engine offers drivers different levels of horsepower, torque and different transmission options.

With the LX drivers get 145 hp with 130 lb.-ft. Of torque on a manual 6-speed transmission. Upgrading to the EX trim, drivers then get a horsepower of 173 with 166 lb.-ft. Of torque and a standard 6-speed automatic transmission.

Between the two Forte trim levels there are various technological differences, Kia UVO eServices being one such technology that is not available on the LX trim but is on the EX. Upgrading to the 2016 Forte EX drivers can add in the infotainment system and enjoy features such as Parking Minder, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Voice-Command Function, Rear-View Camera and more.
 
On the Forte LX, there are still standard and available technologies to keep drivers connected on the road. Standard in every Forte are connectivity features including Bluetooth Wireless Technology, USB Input Jack and Steering-Wheel Mounted Controls. For added convenience drivers can also choose to fit their Forte with a 4.3″ Touch Screen Audio Display and Rear Camera Display.
