What is the difference between the 2016 and 2017 Kia Sportage?
By Product Expert | Posted in Kia News, Kia Sportage, Model Comparisons, New Models, Technology on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 at 10:00 pmEach year car makers come out with new versions of models, sometimes with all of the same features as the current model year just with a new prefix. However, that is definitely not the case when it comes to the difference between the 2016 and 2017 Kia Sportage. For the 2017 model year, the Sportage has been redesigned to look more sophisticated and is equipped with more convenience options than ever before.
As with the 2016 Sportage, the 2017 model will be offered in three trim levels. The difference between the model years’ trims is simply the renaming of the 2016 Sportage SX to the 2017 Sportage SX Turbo. Both years feature 2.0L turbocharged engines with the differences between the two lying in the convenience options available.

One of the changes made for the 2017 model of the Sportage is the available sound systems through which drivers can stream their favorite tunes from their phone or through Kia’s UVO eServices. In the 2016 Kia Sportage, drivers have the option to add the Infinity Surround Sound Audio System while the 2017 model features the Harman/Kardon Audio System.
What is the 2017 Kia Sportage Release Date?
The 2017 Kia Sportage will be equipped with Kia’s latest version of the UVO eServices system, the UVO3. This system will be available in April of this year with the on sale date of the 2017 Sportage to follow later in the year.

The LX trim will have UVO3 displayed on a 5-inch touchscreen, the EX a 7-inch screen and the SX Turbo, the largest option with 8-inch of full color display.
